Plantar Warts

If you've noticed rough, painful spots on the soles of your feet, they may be plantar warts. These growths are caused by human papillomavirus (HPV) and can vary in size and number. Some plantar warts resolve on their own, others may require medical attention.

Plantar warts are noncancerous growths that develop on the bottom of the feet. They often have these characteristics:

  1. Rough grainy texture
  2. Tiny black dots
  3. Pain
  4. Location of wart
