Athlete's Foot
If not treated properly, athlete's foot can spread to other parts of the body.
Nails
- The fungus can infect the toenails which leads to thickened, discolored, and brittle nails. This complication is harder to treat than athlete's foot. Do your best to keep your feet dry and clean to avoid fungal spread.
Hands
- The fungus on your foot can be transferred to your hands through direct touch. Be sure to wash your hands thoroughly after touching the affected area on or near your feet.
Other Body Parts
- If spores come into contact with susceptible areas, the fungus can spread to other areas of the skin, like the groin, or other parts. Avoid scratching the infected area and wear clean, dry clothing.
